Balfour Beatty is a global infrastructure group that delivers professional services that are vital to the development, creation, and maintenance of infrastructure assets. Operating in over 80 countries across the world, it’s a leader in its field and employs around 50,000 people.
The business creates and cares for assets that enable communities and societies to develop, including airports, roads, railways, seaports, tunnels, and bridges. With a broad spectrum of capabilities and a depth of technical expertise, it’s been helping economies to flourish since 1909.
Every year, Balfour Beatty recruits around 150 graduates into various disciplines across the business, including Engineering, Environmental, Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying. Graduates with any university degree are invited to apply. The schemes vary in length, though typically last around 2 years. After this point, recruits are expected to be ready to go into senior management roles and play a key part in driving the business forward.
All graduates are expected to get involved from day one with hands-on projects that really teach them about the business and their chosen area of specialism. Recruits are rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits package, a robust learning and development programme, and the opportunity to pursue a career with one of the most respected brands in the world.
In 1909 Balfour Beatty was founded by George Balfour, a Scots mechanical engineer, and Andrew Beatty, an English chartered accountant.
