GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical companies, with operations in over 100 countries across the globe. It is dedicated to delivering products and medicines that help people live longer and to the highest standard possible.
The company produces and distributes over 4 billion packs of medicine each and every year, as well as ‘feel good’ products such as Lucozade and Ribena. It also works to make medical care more accessible in the developing world. As part of this, there’s a voluntary programme for employees called ‘PULSE’, in which staff are encouraged to use their skills to help poor communities at home and abroad.
All of the graduate programmes last three years, and are available in Sales and Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, IT, Engineering, Science, Regulatory Affairs, and Health Outcomes.
The starting salary for graduates at GlaxoSmithKline is around £22,500, and there is annual bonus scheme that rewards personal and company performance. Holiday entitlements are particularly good here, with new recruits receiving 26 days, and those working for longer than 10 years receiving 28 dates. There’s even the option to trade in part of your salary to take an extra five days each year.
In line with the company’s dedication to health and wellbeing, there’s also an excellent package of benefits to help employees take care of themselves and their families.
GSK's commercial products include Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Nicorette, Lucozade & Ribena.
