Grant Thornton is a global business, delivering audit, tax, and advisory services to a range of clients in over 100 countries around the world. Within the UK it has around 40,000 clients from a broad range of sectors.
The varied client base includes businesses in retail, entertainment, technology, property, and healthcare, as well as fast growing start-ups and high net worth individuals.
The company recruits over 300 graduates, students, and interns each and every year, within five main areas: Audit, Tax, Actuarial, Business Risk Services, and Recovery and Reorganisation. They can expect to work on varied client assignments from the very start, with real responsibility for outcomes. After the first year of the programme, graduates may be leading their own team of staff on high level projects, or managing their own portfolio.
Grant Thornton’s structured training for graduates is delivered alongside fast paced on-the-job experience, giving them the opportunity to quickly develop and work through the ranks.
The scheme recruits individuals who are ambitious and keen to get ahead, with an aptitude for business and the ability to challenge assumptions. As you’d imagine from a world-class employer, the salary is competitive and increases as graduates work towards their professional qualification. Development is key at Grant Thornton, and is the main focus of the graduate scheme. Other benefits include around 22 days of paid holiday, life assurance, private healthcare, and a pension scheme.
Grant Thornton was created in 1980 due to a merger between Alexander Grant & Co & Thornton Baker.
