By using this website (www.savethegraduate.org) you agree to abide and be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below, as well as the laws of England and Wales. These are in addition to our privacy policy, which combine to govern the relationship between the user and this website.

1. Definitions

The terms “the website”, “savethegraduate.org”, “STG”, “us” or “we” all refer to Grip Media Limited who are the sole owners of this website.

2. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Use

This Terms of Use Agreement (“Agreement”) sets forth the legally binding terms for your use of the Services. By using the Services, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, whether you are a “Visitor” (which means that you have not registered with the Website) or you are a “Member” (which means that you have created an account with the Website). The term “User” refers to a Visitor or a Member. You are only authorized to use the Services (regardless of whether your access or use is intended) if you agree to abide by all applicable laws and to this Agreement. Please read this Agreement carefully and save it. If you do not agree with it, you should leave the STG Website and discontinue use of the Services immediately. If you wish to become a Member, and make use of the Services available only to Members, you must read this Agreement and indicate your acceptance during the Registration process.

We may at any time revise, add or remove portions of this Terms of Use Agreement by updating this posting and providing notice of a change on this Website, and by changing the last date of modification which appears above. Your continued access and browsing following notice of a change means that you agree to and accept this Terms of Use Agreement as amended. If you do not agree to any changes to these Terms of Use, you must immediately stop accessing this Website.

3. Acceptable Use

You are solely responsible for the Content that you post on or through any of the Services, any material or information that you transmit to other Members, and your interactions with other Users. Please choose carefully the information that you post on or through the Services and that you provide to other Users. The content that you post on or through the Services may not include any form of Prohibited Content, as described under the “Prohibited Content” heading below. Despite this prohibition, information, materials, products, or services provided by other Members (for instance, in their profiles) may, in whole or in part, be unauthorized, impermissible, or otherwise violate this Agreement, and the Website assumes no responsibility or liability for this material. If you become aware of misuse of the Services by any person, please report such misuse to us at [email protected]

We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with this site. STG may investigate any apparent or reported violations of its policies and take any action that it, in its sole and absolute discretion, deems appropriate, including but not limited to issuing warnings; rejection of, refusal to post, or removal of any materials on the site; and/or denial, restriction, suspension, or termination of a Member’s access to any or all part(s) of the Services at any time. STG expressly reserves the right to remove, screen, or edit any content that STG deems, in its sole and absolute discretion, to violate this Agreement or any applicable law or to be otherwise objectionable. If we receive complaints that upon investigation show that you have repeatedly violated third-party copyright or posted Prohibited Content, STG may permanently suspend your Membership in the STG community. STG may take any or all of the actions above at any time, with or without prior notice or explanation, and without liability.

4. Eligibility

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that (a) all registration information, employment information (including job advertisements or responses to job advertisements), or any other content you submit is truthful, accurate and not misleading; (b) you will maintain the accuracy of such information (including your email address) and remove or amend it when it is no longer accurate; (c) where registration as a Member is required in order to use a Service you are 18 years of age or older; and (d) your use of the Services does not violate any applicable law or regulation, in particular , laws relating to discrimination, employment or human rights or other laws. Your profile may be deleted and your Membership may be terminated without warning, if we believe that you are under 18 years of age . The paragraph also applies to any content that you submit to other Users of the Services, such as prospective employers or employees.

5. Prohibited Content

STG prohibits the use of the Services to post or transmit Content that is illegal or depicts illegal activity. STG reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in STG’s sole and absolute discretion, violates this provision, including, without limitation, removing the offending Content from the STG Website, terminating the Membership of such violators, and/or reporting violators to law enforcement authorities.

The following are examples of the kind of Content that is illegal or prohibited to post on or through the Services:

  • content that is patently offensive and promotes racism, bigotry, hatred, or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
  • content that is derogatory toward or disparaging of STG;
  • content that contains excessive violence or offensive subject matter or contains a link to an adult Website;
  • content that solicits personal information from anyone under 18;
  • content that publicly posts information that poses or creates a privacy or security risk to any person;
  • content that constitutes or promotes information that you know is false or misleading or that promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, or libelous;
  • content that constitutes or promotes an illegal or unauthorized copy of another person’s copyrighted work, such as providing pirated computer programs or links to them, providing information to circumvent manufacturer-installed copy-protect devices, or providing pirated music or links to pirated music files;
  • content that involves the transmission of “junk mail,” “chain letters,” unsolicited mass mailing, instant messaging, or “spamming”;
  • content that contains restricted or password-only access pages or hidden pages or images (those not linked to or from another accessible page);
  • content that furthers or promotes any criminal activity or enterprise or provides instructional information about illegal activities including but not limited to making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone’s privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;
  • content that solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other Users;
  • content that involves commercial activities and/or sales such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, or pyramid schemes;
  • content that includes a photograph or a video of another person, in a context in which that person had a reasonable expectation of privacy, that you have posted without that person’s consent;
  • content that violates the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, trademark rights, contract rights, or any other rights of any person; or
  • content that promotes propaganda and/or symbols of organizations that are unconstitutional or illegal in your country.

6. Term

This Agreement and any posted revision to this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect while you use the Services or are a Member. You may terminate your Membership at any time, for any reason, by e-mailing us at [email protected] STG may terminate your Membership at any time for any or no reason, with or without prior notice or explanation, and without liability. Even after Membership is terminated, this Agreement will remain in effect.

7. Password

When you sign up to become a Member, you will also be asked to choose a password. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. You agree not to use the account, username, or password of another Member at any time or to disclose your password to any third party. You agree to notify STG immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or access to your password. You are solely responsible for any and all use of your account.

8. Fees

You acknowledge that STG reserves the right to charge for the Services and to change any applicable fees from time to time in its discretion. If we terminate your Membership or use of any of the Services because you have breached the Agreement or other applicable terms and conditions you shall not be entitled to a refund of any unused portion of subscription fees.

9. Non-commercial Use

The Services are for the personal use of Users, or where specified, Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except where and to the extent specifically endorsed or approved by STG. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the Services, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorised framing of or linking to the Website is prohibited. Commercial advertisements and other forms of solicitation are prohibited. Links may be removed at our discretion for any reason. Legal action may be taken for any illegal or unauthorised use of the Services or the Website please contact STG by emailing [email protected]

10. Proprietary Rights in Content on the Website

STG does not claim any ownership rights in the text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, musical works, works of authorship, software scripts and applications, or any other materials (collectively, “Content”) that you post on or through the Services. After posting your Content to the Services, you continue to retain any such rights that you may have in your Content, subject to the limited license granted herein. By displaying or publishing (“posting”) any Content on or through the Services, you hereby grant to STG a limited license to use, modify, delete from, add to, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content in STG’s sole and absolute discretion, including without limitation distributing part or all of the STG Website in any media formats and through any media channels.

The license that you grant to STG is non-exclusive (meaning that you are free to license your Content to anyone else in addition to STG); fully paid and royalty-free (meaning that STG is not required to pay you for the use on the STG Services of the Content that you post); sublicensable; and worldwide.

By uploading or otherwise posting any Content to the STG Website, you represent, warrant, and covenant that: (i) you own the Content posted by you on or through the Services or otherwise have the right to grant the license set forth in this Section (ii) the posting of your Content on or through the Services does not violate any applicable laws, including but not limited to all applicable data protection laws and the privacy rights, publicity rights, intellectual property rights, copyrights, contract rights, or any other rights of any person or entity; and (iii) you have obtained the prior consent of any individuals whose personal information you use, disclose, or transmit on or through the Services. You agree to pay for all royalties, fees, and any other monies owing to any person or entity by reason of any Content posted by you on or through the Services.

This Web site contains the trademarks, trade names, processes, methodologies as well as copyrighted and other proprietary material owned by STG and/or our affiliated companies (the ” STG Content”). The STG Content on this Web site is protected from copying or reproduction under the laws of England and Wales and other countries and nothing contained herein shall be construed as conferring by implication or otherwise any licence or right under any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right. You may only use the STG Content in conjunction with your lawful use of this Web site in accordance with these terms and conditions and any other use of the STG Content is strictly prohibited. Any right in the STG Content not expressly granted in these Terms of Use are reserved.

The Services contain Content of Users. Except as provided within this Agreement, you may not copy, modify, translate, publish, broadcast, transmit, distribute, perform, display, or sell any Content appearing on or through the Services.

11. E-mail Policy

We will not respond unless required to do so by law to any electronic mail (“e-mail”) sent to us which contains threatening, abusive, malicious, pornographic, obscene, defamatory or otherwise illegal or inappropriate material. We reserve the right to take such action as we in our sole discretion deem fit in respect of such material. Prospective employers or employees are also under no obligation to respond to such emails. All e-mails received will be taken to be submitted, where appropriate, for publication, free of charge. We will not disclose any personal information under any circumstances of any STG and/or any of its associate companies’ staff. Where appropriate we will endeavour to respond to e-mails with 2 days of receipt, but we cannot and do not guarantee to respond to all e-mails within this time frame. E-mails will generally be stored for 12 months after which time they may be deleted. An e-mail sent to the incorrect destination is liable to be deleted immediately.

12. Links

We have not reviewed the content of the sites that may be linked to the STG Web site and we are not responsible for any sites linked to this Web site. Your linking to any sites from this Web site is at your own risk. By linking to a site or permitting a link to this Web site, we do not endorse or accept any responsibility for the site operator or the content linked to such site.

13. Copyright Policy

You may not post, modify, distribute, or reproduce in any way any copyright material, trademarks, or other proprietary information belonging to others without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights. This applies to any material that you submit to other Users of the Services, such as prospective employers or employees. STG prohibits use of the Website and/or the Services of any User who infringes the copyright of others. Without limiting the foregoing, if you believe that your work has been copied and posted on the Website and the Services by another User in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please notify us via [email protected] We will take such action (if any) that we in our absolute discretion deem appropriate.

14. Member Disputes

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other Users. STG reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other Users.

15. Privacy

Use of the Website and the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by this reference.

16. Disclaimers

STG is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate content posted on the Services or the Website or in connection with the Website or the Services, whether caused by Users of the Website or the Services or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Website or the Services. This applies to any content that is submitted to other Users of the Services, such as prospective employers or employees. We are not liable for any job that you may or may not obtain as a result of the Service. Profiles created and posted by Members on the Website or the Services may contain links to other websites although we are not responsible for any User generated links or linked-to content.

STG is not responsible for the content, accuracy or opinions expressed on such websites, and such websites are in no way investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy or completeness by STG. Inclusion of any linked website on the Website and the Services does not imply approval or endorsement of the linked website by STG. When you access these third-party sites, you do so at your own risk. STG takes no responsibility for third party advertisements which are posted on the Website or through the Services, nor does it take any responsibility for the goods or services provided by its advertisers. STG is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any User of the Website or the Services. STG assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, corruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any User communication or any content.

STG is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or players due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or on any of the Services or combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Users or to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading materials in connection with the Website or the Services. Under no circumstances shall STG be responsible for any loss or damage resulting from use of the Website or the Services, attendance at an event organised through the Website or the Services, from any content posted on or through the Website or the Services, or from the conduct of any Users of the Website or the Services, whether online or offline. The Services are provided “AS-IS” and as available and STG makes no representations or warranties of any kind as to the Website, the Services or the content. In particular STG expressly disclaims any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. STG cannot guarantee and does not promise any specific results from use of the Website and the Services. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as limiting or excluding STG’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold STG, its subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their respective officers, agents, partners and employees, harmless from any loss, liability, demand, claim or legal proceedings brought or threatened, including expenses of any character suffered or incurred arising out of your use of the Website or the Services in violation of this Agreement, and/or arising from your use of or conduct on the Website or in use of the Services ( including where you have submitted content to other Users of the Services, such as prospective employers or employees) and/or a breach of this Agreement.

18. Competitions and Prize Draws

We may from time to time run competitions, free prize draws and/or other promotions on the Website. These will be subject to additional terms and conditions that will be made known to users at the relevant time.

a. Competitions are operated by Grip Media Limited (“Promoter”) and hosted on www.savethegraduate.org. Prizes may be sponsored by external partners.
b. The Prize(s) on offer are clearly advertised on the competition entry page.
c. Every active competition hosted on the Website has certain entry requirements, stated on the competition page. You must follow all steps to be eligible for entry.
d. To enter prize competitions you must be over 18.
e. To enter prize competitions you must confirm your email address and it must belong to you.
d. One entry per person.
e. By entering this competition you give us permission to send emails from Save the Graduate to the email address you entered with.
f. Prize winners are chosen at random from valid entries on the date the competition ends (specified on the entry page).
g. Prize winners will be announced after the competition has ended via social media platforms. We will make every attempt to contact the winners via the e-mail address or phone number they provided when entering.
h. If we are unable to contact a winner after 7 days, we reserve the right to not award it.
i. The Prize is non-transferable, subject to availability and there is no cash alternative. The Promoter may substitute an alternative of the same or comparable value if, in its sole discretion, deems it necessary.
j. The Winners agree to participate in such reasonable publicity as may be requested by Promoter.
k. We reserve the right to disqualify entrants if we suspect that they are trying to defraud the competition.
l. We reserve the right to amend competition entry requirements or these terms at any time, without prior notice.
m. We reserve the right to withdraw this competition at any time.
n. We reserve the right to end the competition prior to the official closing date.
o. By entering the competition, all entrants agree to be bound by these Terms of Competition Entry and any Entrant who fails to abide by any of these Terms of Competition Entry may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

19. Third party opt-in

Registered users have the option to receive information and communication from our carefully selected partners. If this option is selected (by checking the relevant check box on Step 2 of registration) we may share the details you submit to us with relevant third parties, typically specialist graduate recruiters and other graduate careers websites.

At time of writing, our partners include: Graduate Recruitment Bureau and Milkround.com. We reserve the right to amend this list at any time without prior given notice. For more details on how we use your information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

20. General

You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under the Agreement. If any part of the Agreement is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction the validity of the remaining terms will be unaffected. If either party does not exercise any right or remedy under these terms, this will not be taken to mean that they have been waived.

21. Termination

We may terminate the provision of the Website or the Services or restrict your access to them without any prior notice to you where (by way of example and without limitation): (1) there is a regulatory or statutory change limiting our ability to provide the Website and/or the Services; (2) any event beyond our reasonable control prevents us from continuing to provide the Website or the Services (for example, without limitation, technical difficulties, capacity problems and communications failures); or (3) we consider in our sole discretion that you are abusing the Services provided by the Website or are otherwise acting in breach of the Agreement.

As this is a shared service with other Users, you agree that if the demand for the Services provided by the Website is in excess of our ability to meet the capacity, we may either share the capacity among all Users or we may give you notice by e-mail that the provision of the Website will terminate. Any such termination will not affect your accrued liabilities incurred prior to any such termination.

22. House Rules

In addition to the terms and conditions set out above, you agree to use the Services in accordance with any applicable house rules (“House Rules”) that we specify in relation to a Service. You will also comply with those House Rules when you submit content to other Users of the Services, such as prospective employers or employees. All such House Rules shall form part of the Agreement. In the event of a conflict between the terms and conditions set out above and any applicable House Rules the relevant House Rules shall prevail.
